This small Santo Domingo polychrome jar is a beautifully formed example of the pueblo's pottery tradition, measuring almost 7 inches in height and over 7 inches in diameter. Its elegant shape begins with a small base that gracefully expands into a rounded form, with the shoulder positioned just above the midpoint. From there, the profile rises into a refined neck that curls outward at the rim, which is accented by a single black painted line.

The jar's design is both simple and playful, featuring two four-petaled flowers on opposite sides, connected by a delicate vine adorned with black and white striped leaves — graphic elements commonly associated with Santo Domingo pottery. Below the vine, two framing lines encircle the jar, leading to a base painted in a rich red slip. Adding a thoughtful detail, the interior of the jar is also slip-painted in red clay, reflecting the potter's careful attention to creating a visually cohesive vessel.

With its balanced proportions and understated yet expressive decoration, this jar embodies the beauty and artistry of Santo Domingo Pueblo pottery.
