Dan Namingha (b. 1950) is a Hopi-Tewa painter and sculptor who stands as one of the most influential Native American artists of our time. A descendant of a renowned artistic lineage, he is the son of acclaimed potter Dextra Quotskuyva Nampeyo, and the great-grandson of the legendary Annie Healing Nampeyo. Raised on the Hopi reservation, Namingha honed his skills at the University of Kansas, the Institute of American Indian Arts, and the American Academy of Art. His career spans numerous prestigious awards, notable exhibitions, and a diverse collector base, affirming his place in the pantheon of contemporary Native American art.
