A Probable Diné Diamond: A Silver and Coral Ring

This exquisite silver and coral ring, probably crafted by a Diné of the Navajo Nation, features a diamond or cruciform face. It is adorned with three coral cabochons positioned vertically and three horizontally, each direction accentuated by an additional four coral cabochons. The ring is not stamped with the makers name or initials, but the shadow-box style is typical of Navajo jewelry.

All the coral cabochons are oval-shaped, except for the central one, which is round. Each coral stone is meticulously set in a silver bezel, further outlined with silver wire. The entire arrangement, reminiscent of a shadow box, rests on a darkened silver background, making the vibrant coral stand out even more dramatically.

The ring, classic in style and remarkable in craftsmanship, exudes a delicate charm due to the small coral cabochons. The band, a simple silver loop, is currently sized for a 7-½ finger, making this piece a timeless and elegant accessory.
