Christopher Youngblood, Santa Clara Pueblo Potter

Artist signature of Christopher Youngblood, Santa Clara Pueblo PotterThis jar is the work of Christopher Youngblood (1989-), son of Nancy Youngblood and great grandson of Margaret Tafoya. The matte black pottery body hosts five hummingbirds and flowers which are in a highly polished finish. The hummingbirds are in flight in various places on the vessel body. The interior and exterior neck of the vessel have a matte black micaceous finish. Chris was taught the principles of pottery making by his talented mother, Nancy Youngblood. Once taught, he went in his own direction which has proven to be a wise choice as his work is unique and varies from standard Santa Clara black pottery.
