Gary Weisman focuses on the classical human figure and is certainly influenced by the historical significance of body sculpture. This sculpture of a male torso is titled “Primary Tangent” and is stamped #1 in an edition of 12. It is a bronze sculpture measuring 20” x 12” x 8-½” and was cast in 2005.
Weisman was born in 1952 in Chicago, IL. He studied sculpture and drawing at The Art Institute of Chicago and at Washington University. His sculptures have a grace of design and reflect his interest in Greek sculpture and Italian Renaissance. His sculptures are breathtaking, sensual, and strong. Weisman performs every step of the process for making sculptures, from making the clay form to adding the patina as the final step.
Gary Weisman lives and works in Albuquerque, NM. His works are exhibited at galleries worldwide.
