Karen Kahe Charley is a daughter of Marcella Kahe, who was her mentor. She has been an active potter since around 1980, following the birth of three children in the 1970s. She has been awarded Best of Show, Best of Division, and Best Traditional Pottery at the Museum of Northern Arizona and at Santa Fe Indian Market. Her work is always beautifully executed.
This canteen is filled with designs on the front and extending down the sides. There are stylized bird designs, kiva steps, butterflies, and other traditional Hopi designs.
The canteen is signed with her initials and a butterfly hallmark.
Condition: The canteen is in very good condition. There are no rim chips or broken parts.
