This is the most elaborate and most beautifully decorated nacimiento we have had. Also, it is the largest in size that we have had.
Joseph is wrapped in a plain blanket with beautiful folds. Mary has an elaborately decorated blanket draped across her shoulders. She wears real turquoise earrings. Baby Jesus is comfortably wrapped in a blanket matching the one Mary is wearing.
Of the three kings, one carries a Navajo ceremonial basket, one a bowl of turquoise, and one a black felt hat.
The horse is most elaborate. He has a cradleboard and a water canteen hanging from the saddle horn. Across the back of the saddle is rolled a real textile.
The complete set is absolutely exquisite. This set won a First Prize (Blue Ribbon) at the 1989 Santa Fe Indian Market. The ribbon accompanies the set.
