Nine-Piece Nacimiento Diorama Set [SOLD]

There are very few potters at Isleta Pueblo. It is no longer a large pottery-producing pueblo as it was in the early 20^th century.

This artisan has fashioned a spectacular nacimiento using a large amount of white slip and sparse on the polychrome colors—resulting in quite a visual statement. The curved adobe wall with vigas adds tremendously to the overall effect. The three kings carry traditional pueblo gifts of moccasins, turquoise and a textile.

The set is signed Mapoo and is in excellent condition.
