The fine art of Pablita Velarde and Helen Hardin

The fine art of former mother/daughter artists from New Mexico's Santa Clara Pueblo is being exhibited from September 15th to November 28th, 2012.  Pablita Velarde passed away in 2006, and her daughter, Helen Hardin, passed away in 1984.  Hardin had specialized in abstract presentations of traditional pueblo themes executed in acrylic paints.  Velarde specialized in traditional pueblo cultural scenes presented in paints she herself made from grinding earth mineral elements.
