Pauline Gutierrez, Santa Clara Pueblo Potter

Pauline Gutierrez was known for her figurative pottery. They were presented in distinctive polychrome colors, distinctive style and animated joy of the celebrated Gutierrez family from Santa Clara Pueblo.

Pauline Gutierrez (later Pauline Naranjo) was the daughter of Luther Gutierrez. She was born in 1931 and is now deceased.

Luther Gutierrez (1911-1987) was the son of Lela and Van Gutierrez; bother of Margaret Gutierrez. Luther was active between 1935-1987 making polychrome jars, bowls and wedding vases. Luther collaborated with Lela his mother and Margaret his sister. When Luther and Pauline collaborated, they would cosign Pauline/Luther.
