Sharron Ahtone Harjo (b.1945 - ) Sain-Tah-Oodie - Kiowa Tribe
Sharron Harjo is an art instructor, basket maker and painter. She was born in Carnegie, Oklahoma, attended high school in Montana, schooled at the Armory for the Arts in Santa Fe, attended Bacone College, and Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. She is not only very well educated she is well qualified as an artist. She has been widely exhibited in shows throughout the United States and has won awards at many of them. She has contributed to her Nation as a member of the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Federation of Indian Women, been awarded the Outstanding Indian Woman of Oklahoma Award, and selected as one of only 8 Oklahoma Indian artists exhibited in the Year of the Indian Exhibition in Oklahoma
