Award winning artist Dan Namingha is frequently referred to as one of the most successful Native American artists working today. He is known for his Hopi Pueblo imagery with modern abstraction and other more personalized expressions.

Dan Namingha is the son of Dextra Quotskuyva Nampeyo and he was raised on the Hopi Reservation. His great grandmother was Annie Healing Nampeyo and grandmother was Rachel Nampeyo. -Schaaf

Dan Namingha (1950- ) has been published in over 32 publications, has received commissions for public buildings (e.g. Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix), has had more than 35 exhibits plus more than 16 one-man exhibits, and has received numerous awards. All this attests to his extraordinary talent as a painter.

Originally, he was a realistic painter but began to paint in more abstract ways after 1972. He credits Otellie Loloma, former wife of jeweler Charles Loloma, with encouraging him in this.
