Eldon Kewanyama, Hopi Pueblo, active pre-1958-92+. Eldon Kewanyama lives in Shugopavi, Second Mesa, AZ and is the son of Claude Kewanyama; brother to Leroy Kewanyama; husband of Ella Ruth Kewanyama (basket maker); father of Elroy Kewanyama and seven daughters. Eldon has won several awards for his work, 1958, 2nd, Large Katsina Dolls - Non-Action; HM, Medium Katsina Dolls - Non- Action; 1992, 2nd, lightning sticks, Hopi Show, Museum of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff. Some of Eldon's Kewanyama favorite figures to carve are Anakakatsina- Gambler Katsina, Heheya - Messenger for the Rain Spirits, Suyang'ephoya - Left-handed Katsina.
