Phyllis Leno is a daughter of famous Acoma Pueblo matriarch Juana Leno. Juana taught Phyllis how to make traditional polychrome jars, bowls, miniatures, animal figures and owls. Phyllis has been making them since 1975. Phyllis is the great-granddaughter of Eulilia Vallo; granddaughter of Lupita and Jose Luis Vallo; sister of Rose, Marie, Isabel and Regina Leno.
