Hopi Pueblo artist Arthur Holmes, Sr. has been active since the 1960s making carving and painting. Arthur has won several awards since 1986. Arthur learned from his uncles Ira and Wilfred and has passed on his carving skills to his sons Arthur and Arnold.
Arthur Holmes, Sr. (1945- ) Huminimptewa is the nephew of Ira Tewawina and Wilfred Tewawina; husband of Ellen Homes, father of Arthur Holmes, Jr., Arnold Holmes, and three other children.
