This vintage art guide is a walk through history as it was published in 1983 and is a look at museums, public art spaces and art galleries in the four states listed. Those facilities are listed and described for many cities and towns in the four states. As an instance, for New Mexico, the museums and public art spaces are listed for Albuquerque, Roswell, Santa Fe and Taos. Art galleries are listed for Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos. Similar listings are shown for cities in the other three states.
Photographs of appropriate art pieces are shown with each listing as an example of what one might see at that museum or gallery. It is quite enjoyable to see some of the Santa Fe galleries that were once here and are no longer. This is a wonderful documentary of what it was like over 35 years ago. I am pleased to see that Adobe Gallery in Albuquerque was included as we had only been open for 4 years and certainly were not a major gallery at the time.
