From the Preface
Over the past five years, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Arts has been fortunate to receive or steward major gifts of Native American art, including the Rennard Strickland Collection, the Eugene B. Adkins Collection, and the James T. Bialac Collection.
Although we have held exhibitions spotlighting primarily paintings, works on paper, and some three-dimensional works, we felt that it was time to organize and exhibition featuring Native American Hopi kachinas, with additional objects and drawings from our many permanent collections that relate to kachinas.
