Museum of Indian Arts and Culture Exhibition Catalog
March 19, 1995 - August 18, 1996
This guide was published to accompany an exhibition of works by the students of Dorothy Dunn. All works in the exhibition and gallery guide are from Dorothy Dunn’s personal collection which she gave by donation and bequest to the Museum of New Mexico.
There is a two-page Introduction to the exhibit catalog, followed by a description of 98 paintings in the exhibition. There are no pictures illustrated, only descriptions of those in the exhibition. An example of the 98 listings is as follows:
Narciso Abeyta (Ha So De), Navajo, b. 1918
ANTELOPE HUNT, 1938
Tempera on heavy wove paper, 25-¼” 19-⅛”
Collection of Margretta Dietrich
His paintings of hunt and home scenes were broad in brushwork and flowing in line, at times appearing almost nonchalant.
