Leona Turner, Western Painter

Leona Marie Turner was a New Mexico artist. Turner was born and raised in West Texas, and eventually made her way to Albuquerque, where she became a prominent member of the art community. Her work is included in many prominent public and private collections.

As an educator, Leona Marie Turner (1929-2004) worked with many local artists. She also managed the New Mexico State Fair Art Gallery for decades, working with notable painter Walter Bambrook.
