Artist signature of Joshua Tobey, Western ArtistJoshua Tobey's journey as a sculptor began early, inspired by his father, renowned western sculptor Gene Tobey. Growing up in an artist's studio, Josh was immersed in art from a young age, molding his first sculptures at five or six. His father encouraged this exploration, leading to Josh's first bronze sculptures before he was fourteen.

Despite initially pursuing a business and recreation degree at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, Josh's love for art prevailed. He shifted his focus to fine art, drawing inspiration from nature and wildlife. After graduating in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in fine art, Josh apprenticed with his father and quickly established his own body of work. His early experiences and family support profoundly shaped his successful career as a sculptor.
