Award winning artist John Nieto is regarded as a significant and highly influential artist with a unique style.

John Nieto's long list of accomplishments includes exhibiting work internationally, receiving the New Mexico Governor's Award for Achievement in the Arts, and having a painting displayed in the White House's Oval Office.

John Nieto was an artist of Mescalero Apache and Hispanic descent. Nieto was born in Colorado and eventually moved to New Mexico, where much of his family had lived for generations. The last fifteen years of his life were spent in Texas.

John Nieto was born in 1936 and passed away in 2018.
