Ray Tafoya, Santa Clara Pueblo, active 1976-1994: incised sgraffito blackware with polychrome highlights, miniatures, silver jewelry. Ray Tafoya is the grandson of Severa Tafoya and Cleto Tafoya; son of Tonita Tafoya and Paul Tafoya; husband of Emily Tafoya.
Ray incised and fired pottery made by his wife, Emily. He gathered clay with his brother, Ken. Ray was well known for his miniature seed pots. He finely carved his designs which he found in nature.
