Hopi-Tewa artist Neil David, Jr. has been carving Katsina dolls since the 1980s, carrying on the rich artistic traditions of his family. His favorite subjects often include the Koyaala and the Koshari-Hono Clown, figures imbued with deep cultural significance. Residing in Polacca, First Mesa, Hopi Pueblo, Arizona, David is part of a multi-generational lineage of artists. He is the great-grandson of Lena and Victor Charlie, grandson of Sunbeam and Randolph David, nephew of Larry David, and son of Neil David, Sr.
