+ Add Artist to My Preferences
Loren Phillips, a renowned Hopi Pueblo artist, has been actively carving Katsina Dolls since the 1950s and continues to do so to this day. His top prizewinning one-piece dolls are celebrated as some of the finest carvings in the history of Hopi art.
Born in 1942 and a member of the Sun Clan, Loren Phillips is often compared to Michelangelo for his sculptural style. Like the Italian Renaissance master, Loren meticulously observes and captures natural forms in his work.
