Leo Coriz (1913-1997) was a master jeweler from Kewa Pueblo (Santo Domingo Pueblo) . He was liked by everyone and respected for his knowledge and skills. He served in the U. S. Navy and was honored that President John F. Kennedy approved his request that he be allowed to wear his hair long. He felt this retained his Pueblo Indian heritage at the same time that he was serving his country.
