This Zuni Pueblo bracelet by A. TENNISON features six rows of tiny round pieces of turquoise, each meticulously set in its own sawtooth bezel. Every stone in this bracelet has its own unique shade of turquoise, ranging from light blue to dark green. Each row is separated by a line of twisted wire and a solid band.
Zuni Pueblo artists are masters of all forms of lapidary work. This is especially apparent in their crafting of what is called “snake-eye” jewelry. This is where large numbers of very small round stones are set in various patterns. The patience and skill required to create such a bracelet are amazing. It is truly a work of art with 84 individual multi-color turquoise stones.
The bracelet is signed A. TENNISON. We have been unable to find any information about the artist.
