This Zia Pueblo polychrome stew bowl, created around 1980, features traditional hand-coiled construction and a rich red slip as its base. The surface is adorned with bold geometric designs in earthy tones of dark brown, sienna, and white, characteristic of Zia pottery.

This small bowl offers a window into Pueblo life, having been used during feast days, with its banded design reflecting classic Zia motifs. The name "Julia Pacheco" is lightly scratched on the bottom, a common practice to identify personal items during communal gatherings.


Condition: very good condition commensurate with age and use

Provenance: this Zia Pueblo Polychrome Stew Bowl, c.1980 was previously owned by Julia Pacheco of Kewa Pueblo
