Tony Abeyta identified for us this early painting by him as “Flower Bomb Study” which he painted in 2002 while in California. The idea came from looking down on a body of water and seeing flower bombs. It is an expressive painting and records a style from Abeyta’s early years. He has never locked himself in a repetitive style of painting but has continued to explore and create an expansive repertoire of work.
Abeyta's experiments with color and style have always been successful. The painting is signed Tony Abeyta in lower right and titled on the left.
