Navajo artisan Richard Tsosie attended the Navajo Community College and studied under the tutelage of Kenneth Begay.
Tsosie has won numerous awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian, the Hard Museum, and the Museum of Northern Arizona.
The silver face of the buckle was cast and features the face of an Indian with a rattle in his hand. Below the pictorial element is a row of exotic stones in various shapes and set stone-to-stone in a raised position.
The buckle is stamped with a stylized style of his surname Tsosie.
Condition: excellent condition
Provenance: this Sterling Silver Cast Buckle with Various Stones is from the estate of a long-time Adobe Gallery client who had a collection of over 40 belt buckles!
