Virgil Ortiz of Cochiti PUeblo started his pottery career making traditional figurative pottery such as people and animals, then he matured to make rather unusual figurines. Now he is making figurines related to the Pueblo Revolt of the 16th century. This bear storyteller set was probably made in the early 1990s.
