Santa Clara Pueblo Eight Piece Pottery Nacimiento by Paul Gutierrez and Dorothy Gutierrez [SOLD]

This eight-piece pottery nacimiento was made by Paul and Dorothy Gutierrez of Santa Clara Pueblo. It is co-signed and dated January 1999.

It was made with clay from the Santa Clara Pueblo area and slipped in red clay before being stone polished and fired.

The set consists of the Holy Family and a cow, a goat, a sheep and two horses. Some areas were stone polished and some left in a matte state.

I have been told that Paul (c.1938-) and Dorothy (1940- ) are no longer active potters but I have not yet verified this.
