This is an extraordinarily beautiful pair of bookends. They appear to be copper or bronze sheet overlaid on a plaster form. Portions of the principal feature are painted in various colors.  The Indian carries a tomahawk in his right hand and has his left hand shading his eyes as he searches the landscape.

The back of the base is stamped RUHL with a copyright symbol. The underside of the base is covered with felt on which is a paper label that reads The Armor Bronze Corporation New York City Armor Bronze. Each of the bookends is in excellent condition.
