Carl Von Hassler (1887-1969) was a well-known Albuquerque artist known for his Northern New Mexico village scenes, mountain landscapes and still life paintings of flowers. This painting depicts a colorful array of zinnia flowers in a pueblo pottery jar. The flamboyant arrangement of flowers stands in contrast to the striped blanket covering the table. The detail in this painting is wonderfully executed showing three dimensional depth, strong detail and saturated color.
Condition: very good condition. It is signed Von Hassler in the lower right corner and dated 1937
Provenance: from a collector in Texas
