Although he is best known for his works in clay, especially his figurines, he is also an accomplished painter.

Artist Signature - Alfred Aguilar (1933- ) Sä Wä PinAguilar’s talent is apparent in this colorful rendition of a spirited roadrunner. His work as a potter is reflected  in the painting as he has created a roadrunner that is festooned with pueblo pottery designs. The roadrunner looks as if he is standing in the rays of a bright desert sun. Aguilar used the contrast of black against reds and oranges to create a vibrant image of the well-loved desert bird. It is signed with the artist’s name on the bottom right side.
