This small painting by Awa Tsireh is typical of an artist taking a break from a larger more comprehensive painting, perhaps for a mental break or perhaps for a quick sale. The execution of the painting did not suffer because of its size. This piece illustrates Awa Tsireh’s eye for detail and perspective. He was an outstanding artist and this painting is evidence of such.
Condition: very good
Provenance: Ex collection of Elizabeth DeHuff, passed to her daughter Frances DeHuff Barry. Currently collection of Charlotte G. Mittler who purchased it in 2005 from a Santa Fe dealer.
