This Navajo turquoise ring has a significant amount of silver design elements encircling the outer edge of the base platform. There are silver dots at each end, silver rods flanking the gemstone, and a pair of silver rods outlining the edges of the platform. The turquoise gemstone is a beautiful blue with copper matrix. It was cut in a free-form shape which established the shape of the surrounding silverwork. The turquoise is thick and rises above the silver bezel.
The ring easily defines itself as a spectacular work of art. It is large in appearance but not overly exaggerated. It certainly expresses that the artist was an excellent designer, lapidary artist, and silversmith. It is stamped with the hallmark of the artist—a capital letter H surrounded by sun rays—but we have not identified to whom that hallmark belongs.
