Navajo Nation’s Legacy: A Mid-Twentieth Century Vintage Silver and Turquoise Ring
This vintage silver and turquoise ring, likely originating from the mid-twentieth century, is a product of the Diné of the Navajo Nation. It boasts a beautiful patina that enhances its antique charm. The ring features a single green turquoise gemstone, which serves as the centerpiece. This gemstone is surrounded by silver bars arranged in a radial pattern, reminiscent of sun rays. Each silver bar terminates in a repeated stamped design, further emphasizing the sun ray motif.
The band of the ring is adorned with an arrow stamp located just below the top. Around the back of the band, two pairs of three-pronged designs are stamped. Intriguingly, one of these designs incorporates the letter ‘N' within its depth. This could potentially indicate that the ring was crafted from coin silver, adding another layer of historical significance to this piece.
