This Diné of the Navajo Nation turquoise ring appears to date to the mid-twentieth century. The sheet silver foundation of this ring was cut into the shape of a butterfly. A long silver rod was placed in the center of the platform to simulate the body of the butterfly, and two beautiful blue turquoise were cut into the shape of the butterfly's wings. Each turquoise has a beautiful display of copper matrix.
