Suspended from a handmade silver chain is a Diné of the Navajo Nation turquoise necklace of extraordinary elegance. Each of the 15 turquoise gemstones is mounted in a sawtooth bezel, surrounded by a twisted silver rope. The turquoise cabochons alternate between larger and smaller sizes, and each mounted turquoise connects to its neighbor with a single handmade silver loop. The necklace likely dates to the 1980s.
