Mission Oak Coffee Table

Coffee tables did not exist during the American Arts & Crafts Period, so when one sees a coffee table it has been cut down from a desk. This piece was made of the finest quarter sawn oak with a beautiful tiger oak design on the desktop.  The sides display vertical slats extending upward from the stretcher shelf.  The four legs extend above the table top in typical mission oak fashion.

It is difficult to tell if this is a vintage table that has been cut down to form a coffee table or if it is a more contemporary one made as a coffee table.

Condition:  The table appears to be in excellent condition.

Provenance:  from a Colorado collector of Mission Oak furniture.
