Lehman Lee created a raised oval section of deep red coral is set in a straight edged bezel and placed on a coral and jet channel inlay frame. The workmanship on this ring indicates the artist had great skill. Each individual section of stone was precisely cut and arranged within small channels of silver. The lapidary and silverwork on this ring are exceptional.
The ring is signed in script Lehman Lee Santa Fe 1989. We have been unable to find any information about the artist. The ring comes from the estate of Marvin and Betty Rubin, who kept detailed records of their purchases. All that the records indicate is the ring was a special commission. The Rubins enjoyed supporting young artists they believed had talent.
The ring was commissioned especially to be paired with a pendant in their collection that had been made by Diné silversmith Ray Tracey. The pendant is our item # C4504.17.
Condition: The ring is in excellent condition.
