The Koosa Clown, hiding behind his drum, has his nose pressed against his arm as protection against the smell of the skunk that is happily eating the clown’s watermelon. José Desiderio (J.D.) Roybal [1922-1978] Oquwa - Rain God had a wonderful sense of humor and never ran out of ideas to present the clowns in humorous actions.
Condition: appears to be in original condition
Provenance: from the collection of a granddaughter of Adam and Santana Martinez of San Ildefonso Pueblo who inherited a collection of paintings from the Popovi Da Studio. It has remained in the family until now.
