Stella Teller Southwest Indian Pottery Figurines Isleta Pueblo signatureStella Teller is credited with making the first storyteller representing the Navajo in 1981.  In the female version, she sometimes made the skirt flaring out and placed children sitting on the skirt.  In this storyteller figurine, she placed the children lined up from her shoulder down to her lap.  The female has a blanket draped over her left shoulder and holds a Navajo wedding basket in her right arm.  Her hair is tied up in a chonga and she displays a beautiful turquoise tab necklace.
