This twentieth century Hopi-Tewa pottery dish was certainly made to entice a collector to make an impulsive purchase. It was beautifully constructed and painted. On the underside is written, in black pigment that is fired on, the word TEUWA. Presumably this is a reference to it having been made by a Hopi-Tewa potter.
Condition: this Hopi-Tewa Pottery Mudhead Vessel is in very good condition
Provenance: from a gentleman from Santa Fe
