This Hopi-Tewa Small Black on Red Seed Jar is exquisitely painted with a bird design. The bird’s head and beak are clearly defined, and the body is more stylized with wing feathers and tail feathers.
There are two sets of these bird designs. They equally fit on the Tewa-shaped body of this Hopi Pueblo hand coiled, stone polished pottery vessel.
Condition: very good condition with a single very small rim chip repair.
Provenance: this Hopi-Tewa Small Black on Red Pottery Seed Jar with Bird Designs is from the extensive collection of a family from Colorado
