Grace Navasie-Lomahquahu is a daughter of Joy Navasie. She started making pottery around 1980 and, at that time, her mother painted the designs for her. Grace now does the painting as well as the construction.
This small wedding vase is an excellent example of her fine work. The vessel was beautifully constructed and burnished and the painted design, similar but different on front and back, was beautifully detailed. The deep rich red color and the dark brown color contrast beautifully with the stark white background.
Condition: original condition
Provenance: from the collection of a family from Kansas who are avid collectors of pottery by the Frog Woman and Feather Woman families.
