This pottery tile was made from clay from the First Mesa village Sichomovi, which lies between Hano Village and Walpi Village atop First Mesa.
Mark Tahbo (1958- ) Hopi - Tewa enjoys trying clay from various areas around the Hopi villages. This clay is red in color. Tahbo used a black design for the bird and outlined it in white (Kaolin).
