Darlene James Nampeyo is a granddaughter of Rachel Namingha Nampeyo, great granddaughter of Annie Healing Nampeyo and great-great granddaughter of Nampeyo of Hano. She has been a constant winner of awards at the Museum of Northern Arizona’s annual Hopi Show and was awarded the Fannie Nampeyo Memorial Award, Best of Division at the Scottsdale Native American Indian Cultural Foundation Show, and seven consecutive Santa Fe Indian Market awards.
Each of these three tiles features different designs. One has a prehistoric animal with a heart line, all executed in black pigment. Another round one features a Nampeyo-Sikyatki revival style design. The rectangular one has a large black square, filled with four abstract designs, and outlined if fine black lines.

Provenance: These Hopi Pictorial Pottery Round Tiles are from the collection of a member of the Maria Martinez family from San Ildefonso Pueblo.
