It appears that the body is meant to represent a Zuni Pueblo Shalako Katsina but there are no other similar designs to any known katsina. It was not carved from cottonwood root.
Our consultant stated that this is a copy of a carving located in Berlin, Germany. We are attempting to find out more about this and will update this posting as we learn more.
