This eight-piece Nacimiento set by Mary Quintana from Cochiti Pueblo presents a vibrant and culturally rich depiction of the nativity story. Each figure is dressed in traditional pueblo clothing, painted in lively colors, including deep blues and turquoise, which add warmth and visual interest to the scene. The Holy Family is carefully represented, with Joseph holding a shepherd's staff and baby Jesus wrapped in a cozy, striped blanket. An angel watches over them, lending a sense of serenity. The scene is completed with four kneeling figures bringing symbolic offerings: moccasins, corn, bread, watermelon, squash, and pumpkin, each representing important resources in Pueblo culture. This set was purchased by the current owners in 2000.
